Pop Up Pop Art – Poposition x The Andy Warhol Foundation
Poposition Press is working with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. on an upcoming series of officially licensed pop up books and cards titled Pop Up Pop Art showcasing the career of the influential pop artist.
Pop Up Pop Art will feature four books planned spanning four decades. Each will include interactive elements, optical illusions and special easter eggs for true Warhol fans, making it an immersive and engaging experience.
“The Warhol Foundation is delighted to see Warhol’s life and work literally jump off the page in Rosston Meyer’s dynamic new pop-up book,” said Michael Dayton Hermann of The Warhol Foundation. “It is humbling that Warhol’s creative spirit continues to inspire so many through his contributions and through the philanthropy of the foundation he established which will benefit from the sale of this new book published by Poposition Press.”
Pop Up Pop Art features pop up versions of Warhol’s iconic works from The Silver Factory in the 1960s including a life-size sliceform banana, Andy’s photo booth, a garden of flowers and more.
About The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts
As the preeminent American artist of the 20th century, Andy Warhol challenged the world to see art differently. Since its founding in 1987, in accordance with Warhol’s will, The Andy Warhol Foundation has established itself among the leading funders of contemporary art in the United States. The Foundation has distributed nearly $260,000,000 in cash grants which support the creation, presentation and documentation of contemporary visual arts, particularly work that is experimental, under-recognized or challenging in nature. The Foundation’s ongoing efforts to protect and enhance its founder’s creative legacy ensure that Warhol’s inventive, open-minded spirit will have a profound impact on the visual arts for generations to come. Proceeds the Foundation receives from licensing projects such as this contribute to the Foundation’s endowment from which these grants are distributed.
